Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, or CNA, can be an excellent path to long term employment. This site is designed to provide CNA training tips, resources, job listings and guidance on CNA classes to to anyone currently employed, or interested in becoming employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Not only is this position one that will provide consistent employment around the country, it can also provide you with a career that’s emotionally fulfilling. CNAs assist in providing care for the sick and elderly, including basic medical care, feeding and assisting with bathing.

If you’ve received CNA training you’ll be expected to be able to provide services to assist nurses in working with medical equipment, checking vital signs, as well as providing basic people skills with patients. In many ways, the CNA is a nurse’s right hand. Many day to day activities including maintaining a clean environment, answering basic patient requests and maintaining an accurate inventory of nursing supplies.

Particularly for elderly patients, a CNA will be expected to assist in mobilizing patients. Getting in and out of bed, helping them walk and exercise are all important facets of a CNA’s duties. While some of these tasks seem rudimentary, the importance of getting a CNA certification allows staff to perform emergency procedures like CPR, the Heimlich maneuver and more.
