4Your CNA

4YourCNA has a good compilation of videos on all aspects of the hands on CNA skills test.  Videos range in Handwashing to Feeding a Patient in a Chair to a Assisting a Resident With a Bedpan.  These videos are quite thorough and provide a large checklists for the CNA candidate to review in relation to how the skills are performed and evaluated in a skills test setting. The video makes good use of graphics so that you can see what is documented. An example can be found at

The Santa Barbara City College has produced a series of CNA skills test videos. Each video covers various aspects of CNA critical skills.  While the emphasis in the videos is based on California procedures and testing, the basic skills demonstrated are applicable across all states. There are 25 videos in total.  They range in topic area from wheel chair processes, mouth care, shoulder work, blood pressure checks and patient feeding.  The videos are fairly thorough and do a very nice job of walking through the various CNA procedures in detail.  In each video, the demonstrator CNA talks through each of her steps.  Additionally, the video has accompanying text graphics that highlight key points of the procedures, such as in the blood pressure video “Inflate to 160mm”.  Finally, each video has two sections, one with narration and one without, which gives more a real-life patient scenario.

This comprehensive CNA skill video collection covers CNA procedures, with an emphasis to North Carolina CNA training and are produced by carolinaCNA.com.  However, the general knowledge conveyed and demonstrated can be applied nation-wide.  Videos cover 23 topics, from hand washing to beds and making an occupied bed.  Specific to North Carolina CNAs, there is a registration instruction video. To start some videos there is are rolling text graphic instructions at the beginning of videos that outline how the NNAAP Skills Evaluations are conducted, which is helpful to potential test takers.  However, the quality of these videos is lower than many of the peer CNA Skills Test videos available on YouTube.  Many of the videos have grainy quality as well as poor audio, making it difficult to hear the CNA demonstrating the skills.
