CNA Training In Connecticut

Being a Certified Nurse Assistant can be a rewarding career.  As the demand for quality healthcare grows, especially in the areas of elderly care, the need for CNAs will grow.  This will provide a stable job environment for those that are properly trained and accredited.  It is also a demand trend that is not only national, but also true for the state of Connecticut.  In Connecticut, CNAs must complete 100 hours of their nurse training program with a Registered Nurse that has 2 years of experience.  Additionally, 16 hours of the following modules must be completed in order to start having direct patient contact:

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Residents Rights
  • Residents Independence
  • Safety and Emergency Procedures including the Heimlich Maneuver, and
  • Infection Control
