Vermont State Requirements for LNAs
In Vermont, LNA candidates must complete a minimum of 75 hours of classes a state-approved nursing assistant program. Within these 75 hours, candidates must complete a minimum of 16 hours of classroom learning. Additionally, students may apply for the exam if they are Nursing Candidates in a PN or RN program, or are enrolled within the state of Vermont, have an endorsement in another state’s CNA or LNA Registry, or a candidate who is an Out of State Trained Nursing Assistant candidate who within the last 2 years completed another Nursing Assistant program.

The Written portion of the exam is 70 multiple choice questions. The Skills Evaluation consists of 5 randomly selected Nursing Assistant skills. A candidate must demonstrate these five skills within 30 minutes and be graded by a Nursing Assistant Evaluator.
