CNA Hand Washing Procedure For Skills Test

Hand washing is a requirement on the CNA exam, so it is crucial that you know and understand all of the hand washing procedures to be able to demonstrate this skill. First, it is important to note that candidates are not given a set of specific instructions regarding when to wash their hands, he or she must know when this time comes. CNA’s are expected to know that hand washing is required before any physical contact with any patient. When it comes to being graded on this skill, a candidate’s hand washing technique will be observed during the first skill performed. After hand washing is graded, it is important to note that for the remainder of the exam, candidates are to simulate hand washing which involves simply stating when your hands should be washed rather than going through the movements.
