Feeding Patients

You will be given a plate that contains four to five pieces of fruit cocktail along with a cup of water and a spoon to feed to the patient. If at any time there is a tray with both a fork and a spoon, you will opt to use the spoon only. In addition to all of the steps listed below, a few key points you should be aware of are the non-verbals that you use when describing foods to the patient and also, giving the patient a beverage at least one time during the meal.
