HESI A2 Practice Test

Many nursing programs require their applicants to take the HESI A2 exam as a part of the application process. For most people, preparing for the HESI A2 is critical in order to get a good enough score to be admitted, and the best way to get ready for the HESI A2 is by taking practice tests.

We have developed a sample HESI A2 test that contains test questions from subjects on the official exam. Take a practice HESI A2 test below.

The following is an untimed HESI A2 practice test. Sample questions on this test include math, science, reading, and English questions. When you are ready click the “Start Quiz” button below.

When taking the exam, it is important to focus on a few particular tips.

Prior to studying for the exam, you should line up a test date so you know when you will plan on actually taking the exam.

Where Can I take the HESI A2 Exam?

When it comes to actually taking the test, there are typically two options available for you:

  • Prometric Testing Center
  • Postsecondary Education Institutions

Prometric is a testing company that works with HESI to administer exams. They have testing centers around the United States, and you likely will not have to travel far. You can find a test center on their website.

If you plan on applying to a particular nursing school, there’s a good chance that they administer the HESI A2 at their location. Check on their website for testing information, or reach out to their admissions department to request information.

Know what sections you should study

Reach out to your nursing school or testing administrator to find out what sections of the HESI A2 that you will be taking. Some nursing schools require all sections of the HESI to be completed, but some schools do not require certain sections, such as the physics section.

Knowing which sections are and are not on the test can save you critical time studying. There’s no need to prepare for a section of the HESI if you don’t need to actually take it. Nearly all nursing schools require students to take the core sections of the HESI A2, which are reading, grammar, math, and vocabulary.

The CNA schools displayed in this section offer tuition-based programs.
