The Utah CNA Registry is responsible for providing certification, certification renewal, as well as reciprocity services for Utah Certified Nursing Assistants. All nursing assistant certification programs and instructors are approved and overseen by UNAR. Furthermore, UNAR has designated Testmaster Universe (TMU) as the software program to maintain the registry records and provide certification testing.

Initial Nursing Assistant Certification in the State of Utah

To become a CNA for the first time in Utah, you must complete a state-approved CNA program which is a 100-hour course, including 24 hours of clinical exposure within a long-term care facility. Upon completing such a program, you must pass both the knowledge and skills exams delivered by TMU at specific sites. Once you pass the examination, your name will be added to the UNAR. TMU assigns a personal portal to individuals who have completed a state-approved CNA program. You are given access to the portal via a username and password. The portal is to be used to access all renewal documents and maintain contact info current.
